Minor Moves: Reynolds, Rogers, Dyer, Woodall

OF Burt Reynolds has been assigned to the Bowling Green Hot Rods from the Hudson Valley Renegades. He replaces OF Cody Rogers, who was placed on the 7-day DL by the Hot Rods.

The Charlotte Stone Crabs have activated RHSP Shane Dyer from the 7-day DL to start tonight's game.

The Rays have assigned 26th round pick LHP Justin Woodall to the GCL Rays.

  1. How do the move Reynolds to BG? He's hitting .224, .291 OB, striking out just under every 3rd AB, 7 errors in the OF and only 2 HR.

If they don't have a better candidate then that, they are hurting for outfielders with any talent.

  3. To the other Anonymous- you're right, but, believe it or not, he was the BEST outfielder on Hudson Valley's roster. Surprised TB never helped HV with this. It's been this way ALL SEASON!Still think Cody Rogers should have been at HV.

  4. They released an outfielder in Spring Training(Jason Patton) who hit 278 at Princeton last year. 6 HR and played solid defense.

He signed with a team in the Frontier League and is presently leading the league in average at 323. He has 10 HR and 21 SB in 24 attempts.

That league is made up of a lot of ex A, A+ and AA ball players along with a few AAA and some younger guys who went unsigned. Another ex DRay, JT Hall plays in that league.

The level of play is probably that of A to A+. About 6 pitchers were signed by major league clubs during the season and were assigned to low A, A or High A.

  5. Thanks for the update(s) Gary. He sure would have helped the HV OF this year.

Another former Rays player who is doing well in indy ball is Mike Wlodarczyk. The big lefty is 10-3 with a 3.38 ERA for the Brockton Rox of the CAN-AM League. In 117.1 IP he has 102 Ks and 45 BBs. He is 3rd in the league in wins, 1st in Ks, and 5th in ERA.
