And a couple of notes on junior college picks. 1s/42 Jeff Ames RHP is committed to the University of Oregon. 30/930 Chris Burgess RHP is pitching for the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League, a collegiate summer baseball league. In his first start he pitched 7.0 innings of five-hit ball with eight strikeouts.

  2. According to PG, Burgess is committed to Central Michigan.

  3. Thanks Robbie. Burgess now has a 2.40 ERA over 15.0 innings with 14 strikeouts and only one walk and seven hits allowed.

    But, for some perspective, his team's overall ERA is only 2.66 over 105 innings, and they have 109 strikeouts. So he's doing well, but so is everyone else.
