Scores and Highlights from 6/27

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees 4, Durham Bulls 3 (10 innings)
Leslie Anderson was 2 for 5 with an RBI. Dan Johnson had a double and 2 RBI's. Alex Cobb struck out 6 in 6 innings.



Jackson Generals 1, Montgomery Biscuits 2
Shawn O'Malley was 2 for 4. Cole Figueroa was 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI. Stephen Vogt had an RBI. Matt Bush was the winning pitcher.



Charlotte Stone Crabs 0, Fort Myers Miracle 4
Jake Jefferies was 2 for 3. Mark Thomas was 2 for 4. Scott Shuman pitched 2 shut-out innings with 4 strikeouts.



Bowling Green Hot Rods 3, Great Lakes Loons 4
Derek Dietrich was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI's. Robi Estrada was 3 for 4 with a triple and an RBI. Kevin Kiermaier had a double. Austin Rearick pitched 3 no-hit innings.



Hudson Valley Renegades 3, Staten Island Yankees 7
Gerardo Olivares was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's. Juniel Querecuto was 2 for 4 with a double. Jeff Malm had a double.



Princeton Rays 3, Danville Braves 2
Dre Vettleson was 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI. Junior Rodriguez was 2 for 4 with a double. Ryan Brett was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Josh Sale was 2 for 4. Cameron Seitzer had an RBI. Marcus Jensen picked up the win.



GCL Rays 6, GCL Red Sox 5 (12 innings)
Matt Johnson was 3 for 5 with a home run, 3 runs scored and 2 stolen bases. Darryl George was 2 for 6 with a run scored. Ariel Soriano had a double and an RBI. Julian Morillo and Granden Goetzman each had an RBI. David Kubiak pitched 3 no-hit innings with 6 strikeouts. Theron Geith pictched 2 shut-out innings with 4 strikeouts for the win.



DSL Rays 4, DSL Mets 8 (6 innings)
Yoel Arajo and Alexander Simon had a double each. JiminsonNatera had a triple. Arajo, Simon, Roberto Aldolfo and Natera drove home the runs. Oscar Armenta struck out 6 in 3 1/3 innings.



VSL Rays 6, VSL Mariners 2
Leopoldo Correa was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Franklin Paz was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Wilmer Dominguez was 2 for 4. Jose Bellorin was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Oscar Hernandez had an RBI. Henry Centeno was the winner.

  1. FYI - Roster transactions made 6/27: Daniel Mayora promoted to AAA Durham, Greg Sexton promoted to AA Montgomery.

  2. Ian Snell pitched an inning in the GCL game today, and looked good. Gave up a single to the leadoff batter, then K'd 2 and walked one before ending on a third strikeout. 92 on the fastball and had the breaking pitch was effective vs the LHB.

    Shay Crawford (another LHP) threw a couple impressive innings as well, attacked the outside corner with a tailing fastball at 88, and also featured a tight slider.

    With the rain throughout most of the game it made things a little sloppy, but still a fun game to watch (4-3 win)
