Tuesday's Scores and Highlights

Norfolk Tides 0, Durham Bulls 1
Winning streak extends to nine. Elliot Johnson was 2 for 4. Justin Ruggiano was 2 for 4. Dioner Navarro drove home the run. Richard De Los Santo recorded his franchise record 14th win. Winston Abreu earned the save. The Bulls face Norfolk on Wednesday with Ramon Ortiz making the start.

Montgomery Biscuits 7, Huntsville Stars 0
Drew Anderson was 2 for 4 with a double, triple and 2 RBI's. John Matulia was 2 for 4 with a double. Rashad Eldridge was 2 for 5. Henry Wrigley, Matt Spring and Mike Folli also knocked in a run each. Alex Torres pitched 6 shut-out innings with 7 strikeouts to earn the win. Justin Dowdy and Matt Gorgen helped extend the shut-out through the final frames. Alex Cobb will start when the Biscuits face Huntsville again on Wednesday.

Jupiter Hammerheads, Charlotte Stone Crabs (postponed)
The Stone Crabs will play a doubleheader against Jupiter on Wednesday.



Bowling Green Hot Rods 2, South Bend Silver Hawks 3
Ty Morrison was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's. Tomas Francisco was 2 for 4. Tyree Hayes pitched 2 no-hit innings of relief. Scott Shuman added another inning of no-hit relief with 3 strikeouts. Albert Suarez took the loss and is now 0-5 on the season. The Hot Rods begin a home series against Lake County, Wilking Rodriguez will start the opener.

Hudson Valley Renegades, Brooklyn Cyclones (postponed)
The Renegade host Tri-City on Wednesday.



Princeton Rays 1, Greeneville Astros 2
Cesar Guillen was 2 for 4 with a solo home run for the lone P-Rays run. Hector Guevara was 2 for 4 with a double. Alejandro Segovia was 2 for 4 with a double. Ruben Contreras was 2 for 4. The P-Rays managed 10 hits in the game but went 0 for 8 with runners in scoring position. Braulio Lara suffered the loss. The P-Rays travel to Johnson City on Wednesday.

GCL Twins 5, GCL Rays 2 (Game One)
Luke Bailey was 3 for 3 with a double, home run and 2 RBI's. Stepan Havlicek pitched a no-hit inning, had only surrendered 1 hit and no runs in 3 trips to the mound holding opposing hitters to a 0.71 avg. Eduar Quinonez suffered the loss.

GCL Rays 4, GCL Twins 3 (Game Two, 5 innings)
Juniel Querecuto was 2 for 2 with a double. Cesar Perez was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Julian Morillo, and Jake DePew recorded RBI's. Marcus Jensen picked up the win and Matt Swilley the save. The GCL Rays host the GCL Red Sox on Wednesday.

  1. Lara took the loss for Princeton, but pitched well once again. In 6.0 he allowed only 2 hits and 2 runs (both unearned) to lower his ERA to 2.36 on the season.

    Lots of nice seasons from the starters in Princeton.
