Monday's Scores and Highlights

Durham Bulls 0, Pawtucket Red Sox 12
Winning streak halted at 11 games. Dioner Navarro was the only Bull with multiple hits, going 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. Chris Richard and Joe Dillon had the other two hits of the night. The offense struck out 12 times. Brian Baker suffered the loss. The Bulls face Pawtucket again on Tuesday.

Tennessee Smokies 3, Montgomery Biscuits 4 (10 innings)
Chris De La Cruz was 3 for 4 on the night. Henry Wrigley and John Matulia each drove home a run. Craig Albernaz knocked home the game winning run in the tenth inning. Jeremy Hall pitched 6 shut-out innings with 5 strikeouts in the no decision. Dan De La Rosa picked up the win. The Biscuits face Tennessee on Tuesday, Jake McGee will get the start.

Dunedin Blue Jays, Charlotte Stone Crabs (suspended)
The game was suspended in the fourth inning with the Blue Jays leading 2-0. The game will resume on Tuesday followed by the regularly scheduled game.


Lansing Lugnuts 10, Bowling Green Hot Rods 9
Ryan Wiegand was 2 for 4 with a double, home run and 3 RBI's. Tyler Bortnick was 2 for 4 with a run scored, extending his hitting streak to six games. Brett Nommensen and Julio Cedeno knocked home two runs a piece while Bennett Davis had a solo RBI. Alex Koronis was charged with a bad save and the loss. The Hot Rods open a home series against South Bend on Tuesday, Albert Suarez will start.

Hudson Valley Renegades 3, Brooklyn Cyclones 2
Philip Wunderlich was 3 for 4 with a run scored. Robby Price was 2 for 4 with a double. Mayobanex Acosta had a two run homer. Wilmer Almonte warned the win and Austin Hubbard the save. The Renegades continue the series with Brooklyn on Tuesday.

Princeton Rays 2, Pulaski Mariners 12
Kevin Kiermaier was 2 for 3 with a run scored and 2 walks. Ruben Contreras was 2 for 4. Cesar Guillen was also 2 for 4. Scott Lawson picked up an RBI. Jacob Partridge was the losing pitcher. The P-Rays conclude the series Pulaski on Tuesday, Enny Romero will start.

GCL Rays 2, GCL Twins 6
Ryan Brett was 2 for 4 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base. Cesar Perez was 2 for 4. Justin O'Conner also had a double. The Rays were only 1 for 9 with runners in scoring position. Matt Swilley suffered the loss. The GCL Rays come home on Tuesday to rematch the GCL Twins.

DSL Rays (day off)
The DSL Rays travel to play the DSL Astros on Tuesday.



VSL Rays 13, VSL Cardinals 0
Omar Narvaez was 4 for 6 with 3 runs scored. Erick Epifano was 2 for 4 with 4 RBI's and a run scored. Jonathan Quinonez was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored. Nahum Hernandez plated a run. Eli Echarry got the win with 7 shut-out innings with only 3 hits and 7 strikeouts. Luis Cabrera pitched 2 no-hit innings to end the game. The VSL Rays play at home against the VSL Mariners.

  1. I just noticed that Jose Ruiz is with the DSL Rays. Do you think thats just to get him started and that they will promote him aggresively to get him up u around next year with Leslie?
