Saturday's Scores and Highlights

Durham Bulls 5, Norfolk Tides 3
Bulls has now won four straight. Elliot Johnson was 3 for 4 with a run scored. Joe Dillion was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and 3 runs scored. JJ Furmaniak was 2 for 5 with a run scored. Angel Chavez was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's. Mike Ekstrom earned the win and Winston Abreu the save. Bulls wrap up series with Norfolk Sunday with Carlos Hernandez on the mound.

Mobile Bay Bears 0, Montgomery Biscuits 3 (7 innings)
Henry Wrigley was 1 for 2 with a two run homer. Drew Anderson struck a solo home run. David Newmann pitched a shut-out to get the win and Matt Gorgen recorded the save.

Mobile Bay Bears 4, Montgomery Biscuits 3 (12 innings)
Leslie Anderson was 3 for 6. Henry Wrigley, Shawn O'Malley and Rashad Eldridge all picked up RBI's in the game. Drew Anderson was the only Biscuit not to reach base, going 0 for 3. Dane De La Rosa threw 3 shut-out innings of relief with 4 strikeouts. Josh Satow was charged with the loss. The Biscuits now begin the all-star break, regular play resumes on Wednesday.

St. Lucie Mets 2, Charlotte Stone Crabs 1
Chris Murrill was the only Stone Crab to produce multiple hits going 2 for 5. Lone run came from a solo home run by Matt Fields. Neil Schenk provided 2 scorless innings of relief from the bullpen. Stone Crabs were 1 for 8 with runners in scoring position and stranded 10 men on base. Frank De Los Santos was charged with the loss. The Stone Crabs play St. Lucie in the second game of the series on Sunday with Matt Moore making the start.

Bowling Green Hot Rods 11, Lansing Lugnuts 5
Cody Rogers was 3 for 4 with a home run, RBI and 4 runs scored. Brett Nommensen was 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored. Mark Thomas was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI's. Kyle Spraker was 2 for 5 with a homer and 3 RBI's. Ryan Wiegand was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI's and a run scored. Dustin Biell was only Hot Rod not to reach base by going 0 for 5 with 2 strikeouts. Alex Colome picked up the win, striking out 6 in the process. Both clubs meet up again on Sunday with the Rays Minor League Pitcher of the Month Kyle Lobstein making the start.

Auburn Doubledays 10, Hudson Valley Renegades 8
Derek Dietrich was 4 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored. Brian Bryles was 3 for 5 with a double, 3 RBI's and a run scored. Mayo Acosta was 2 for 5 with a run scored. Robby Price was 1 for 4 with a double and 2 runs scored. The Renegades committed 3 errors on the night. Nate Garcia suffered the loss. The Renagades begin a series against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers on Sunday.

Princeton Rays 4, Burlington Royals 3 (11 innings)
Ruben Contreras was 2 for 5 with a double and 2 runs scored. Alejandro Segovia was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI's, including knocking home the game winning run. Felix Gonzalez was 2 for 5. Scott Lawson was 1 for 5 with a triple and 2 RBI's. Eliazer Suero has increased his scoreless innings to 11 with a 6 inning shut-out performance in the no decision start. Mickey Jannis picked up the win. The P-Rays send Jacob Partridge to the mound in Sunday's game against Burlington.

GCL Rays 3, GCL Orioles 2 (15 innings)
Juniel Querecuto was 2 for 7 with an RBI. Cesar Perez was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles. The Rays offense struck out 20 times. Ryan Fleckenstein earned the win with 4 scoreless innings and Shane Minks picked up the save. The GCL Rays are off on Sunday.

DSL Rays 2, DSL Dodgers 3 (7 innings)
Ariel Soriano was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 RBI's. Hector Rodriguez was the only other Ray with a hit, going 1 for 3. Wilmer Hernandez suffered the loss.


DSL Rays 3, DSL Dodgers 1 (7 innings)
Ariel Soriano matched his line score from game one by going 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 RBI's. Jesus Arazia was 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI. Hector Gomez earned the win. Roque Colon recorded the save, throwing a perfect frame and striking out all three hitters faced. The DSL Rays face the DSL Pirates at home on Sunday.

VSL Pirates 4, VSL Rays 5 (13 innings)
Oscar Hernandez was 3 for 5 with a double, RBI and a run scored. Nahum Hernandez was 2 for 5 with a double and 2 runs scored. Leopoldo Correa was 2 for 5. Felipe Rivero pitched 5 scoreless innnings with 3 strikeouts. Yerwin Sanchez picked up the win.

VSL Pirates 1, VSL Rays 2 (9 innings)
Nahum Hernandez 2 for 4 with a double, RBI and a run scored. Franklin Paz was 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Hugo Duarte earned the victory. The VSL Rays take on the VSL Philles on the road on Sunday.
