Wednesday's Scores and Highlights

Durham Bulls 3, Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs 2
Dan Johnson was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Joe Dillon was 2 for 4. Dioner Navarro drove home a run. Mike Ekstrom earned the win and Winston Abreu the save. Jeremy Hellickson goes looking for win 13 when the Bulls face Lehigh Valley on Thursday.

Montgomery Biscuits 1, Mobile Bay Bears 4
Leslie Anderson was the only Biscuit with multiple hits, going 2 for 3 with a double. John Matulia drove home the lone run. Jeremy Hall suffered the loss. The Biscuits with Jake McGee on the hill face Mobile on Thursday.

Charlotte Stone Crabs 0, Tampa Yankees 3
FSL Pitcher of the Week Matt Moore showed why he was nominated with another spectacular performance, 7 shut-out innings with only 1 hit and 10 strikeouts. Michael Sheridan was 2 for 4. Zach Quate struggled in relief, allowing 3 runs and suffering the loss. The Stone Crabs continue the series with Tampa, Shane Dyer will get the start.

Bowling Green Hot Rods 5, Dayton Dragons 3
Julio Cedeno was 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Ty Morrison was 2 for 4 with a double, 2 RBI's and a run scored. Tyler Bortnick was 2 for 5 with a double and a run scored. Brett Nommensen was also 2 for 5 with a double and RBI. Kyle Lobstein was the winning pitcher and Scott Shuman got the save. The Hot Rods face Dayton again on Thursday, Albert Suarez is on the mound still searching for his first win of the season.

Hudson Valley Renegades 14, Vermont Lake Monsters 2
Burt Reynolds was 4 for 5 with a double, 3 RBI's and a run scored. Elias Otero was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored. Philip Wunderlich was 2 for 4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Robby Price, Derek Dietrich and Alejandro Torres each drove home 2 runs a piece while Nicholas Schwaner added 1 run. The pitching staff combined for 18 strikeouts. Chris Winder was the only starter not to record a base hit. Wilmer Almonte was the winning pitcher. The Renegades play Vermont on Thursday.

Kingsport Mets 2, Princeton Rays 11
Felix Gonzalez was 3 for 4 with a double, RBI and a run scored. Ruben Contreras was 3 for 5 with a double, 3 RBI's and 2 run scored. Hector Guevara was 2 for 2 with an RBI, 2 runs scored and 2 walks. Kevin Kiermaier was 2 for 5 with a triple and 2 runs scored. Cesar Guillen was the only starter without a hit but drove home 2 runs. Geno Glynn and Scott Lawson also drove home runs. Jacob Partridge earned the win. The P-Rays send Enny Romero to the mound against Danville on Thursday.

GCL Twins 6, GCL Rays 4
Ryan Brett was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored. Matt Fields was 2 for 5. Juniel Querecuto was 2 for 5 with an RBI. Justin O'Conner and Edward Dorville also drove home a run. Reinaldo Lopez pitched 5 innings without giving up an earned run, lowering his ERA to 1.69. Jose Molina gave up 5 runs in 2 2/3 innings for the loss. The GCL Rays play a road game against GCL Twins on Thursday.

DSL Rays 7, DSL Red Sox 4
Julio Medina was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored. Adderly Rosa was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored. Jose Ruiz was 2 for 4 with a run scored. Jiminson Natera and Federico Eder also drove home runs. Jose Monegro earned the win and Roque Colon the save. The DSL Rays are home against the DSL Royals on Thursday.

VSL Tigers, VSL Rays (postponed)
The VSL Rays play the VSL Reds on Thursday.

  1. Hudson Valley NEEDS position players NOW! We have 17 active pitchers on our roster. PLEASE, TAMPA BAY find us OUTFIELDERS and some guys to substitute for other positions AND get rid of some of these pitchers.

  2. Chill out. You always come here and act like HV is the main team. Who do you want? There aren't many guys. You should be lucky to have a lights out pitcher in Thompson.
