Thursday's Scores and Highlights

Norfolk Tides 3, Durham Bulls 11
Everyone in the lineup had atleast one hit,accounting for 18 total on the night. Elliot Johnson was 4 for 5 with a home run, 4 RBI's and 3 runs scored. Justin Ruggiano was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, a home run, 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored. Richard De Los Santos got the win, improving to 7-4. The Bulls face Norfolk on Friday with Virgil Vasquez getting the start

Mobile Bay Bears 6, Montgomery Biscuits 9
Henry Wrigley hit his fourth AA home run, going 2 for 5 with a double, home run, RBI and a run scored. Leslie Anderson went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Rashad Eldridge drove home two runs on the night. Alex Torres hit hard allowing 5 runs on 4 hits with 4 walks in 1 1/3 innings. Paul Phillips picked up the win. David Newmann get the start on Friday against Mobile.

Charlotte Stone Crabs 2, Bradenton Marauders 1
Greg Sexton was 3 for 3 with a double. Isaias Velasquez was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Kyeong Kang was 0 for 3 with 3 strikeouts. Nick Barnese earned the win with 7 shut-out innings and 7 strikeouts. Marquis Fleming earned the save. The Stone Crabs wrap up the series with Bradenton on Friday with Joe Cruz making the start.

Dayton Dragons 4, Bowling Green Hot Rods 1
Robi Estrada was the only Hot Rods with multiple hits, going 2 for 4. Gabe Cohen scored the lone run. Tyree Hayes made his return to action with the Hot Rods,pitching 2 scoreless innings. The Hot Rods were 0 for 4 with runners in scoring position. Jason McEachern took the loss. Kirby Yates will get the start on Friday when the Hot Rods face Dayton.

Auburn Doubledays 7, Hudson Valley Renegades 2
Steven Tinoco was 3 for 4 with an RBI. Derek Detrich was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored. Offense struck out a total of 9 times and four members of the lineup were hitless on the night. Robert Dickmann suffered the loss. Devin Fuller will start on Friday against Auburn.

Elizabethton Twins 5, Princeton Rays 3 (10 innings)
Leonardo Reginatto was 2 for 5 with a double and a run scored. Todd Glaesmann was 2 for 4 with a double. Kevin Kiermaier was 2 for 4. Jeff Malm had a two run homer. Bryan Fogle was 0 for 5 with 2 strikeouts. Gerardo Olivares was 0 for 5 with 3 strikeouts. Wade Broyles suffered the loss. The Rays will put Braulio Lara on the mound on Friday against Elizabethton.


GCL Red Sox 5, GCL Rays 1
Edward Dorville was 1 for 4 with a home run. Alexander Diaz was 2 for 3 with a double. The remainder of the offense was hitless with a combined nine strikeouts. Jose Molina was charged with the loss, falling to 2-2. The GCL Rays take on the GCL Orioles in Port Charlotte on Friday.


VSL Reds, VSL Rays (postponed)
The VSL Rays were rained out on and will have an day off on Friday.


DSL Rays 2, DSL Red Sox 6
Hector Rodriguez was the only Ray to have multiple hits, going 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Julio Medina knocked home the only other run. The Rays outhit the Red Sox 7 to 5, but could not get the run across the player going 2 for 15 with runners in scoring position. The pitching staff combined for a total of 12 walks. Hector Gomez was charged with the loss The DSL Rays will play the Royals on Friday.

  1. I'm thinking about catching the stone crabs game tonight to see Cruz. If I go I'll take some HD footage and post on youtube. Is Kirby Yates a starter now? I thought he was a reliever.
