Charlotte Stone Crabs - LHP Darin Downs: He's a bit too old to be a prospect, but he has been fantastic so far in five starts with a 25-2 K-BB ratio.

Bowling Green Hot Rods - SS Tim Beckham: Went 4-7 between the two games including a triple and a homerun. Hitting .307/.330/.455 on the year.

Durham Bulls - OF Jon Weber: Not really a prospect, but the only Bulls player to not pick up a hit.

Bowling Green Hot Rods - C Mike McCormick: Combined to go 0-6 with 5 strikeouts.

  1. Why is darin downs said to be to old to be a prospect,but doing great.The cubs changed him to a bull pen guy,and rays thought he should go back to starting.this is only his second full long season in baseball.Isee many 25 to 28 year old pitchers making ther mlb fist outings.

  2. Well Carlos Hernandez put up good numbers as an older guy in the FSL last year. They're not "prospects" to me but they do have a shot at the majors(albeit a small one).
