The Montgomery Biscuits will host the fifth annual Boy Scouts Camporee at Riverwalk Stadium on Saturday night following the Biscuits series opener against the Mississippi Braves. The team will host approximately 1,200 scouts who will "rough it" on the outfield at Riverwalk Stadium. In addition to the unique experience of camping on a professional baseball field, the campers will be treated to popcorn and a movie played on the Biscuits video board on Saturday night.

"This is our fifth year hosting the Boy Scout Camporee here at Riverwalk Stadium" said Biscuits' VP of Sales Richard Coats. "With the tremendous amount of scouts signed up to come to the game and camp overnight in the outfield plus enjoy fireworks by Max Federal Credit Union, it's turned into quite a special annual event."

On Sunday morning, Biscuits staffers who will also spend the night at the ballpark, will serve the scouts a hearty breakfast of sausage, eggs and juice. "This is one of our favorite scout outings" said Cassandra Washington, Scout Exploring Executive. "We have some scouts coming for their fifth year in a row and some that this is their first year." Breaking into a smile, Washington confessed, "I’m not sure how much actual sleep takes place at this camporee though!"

"This event, and others like it here at Riverwalk Stadium, typifies our commitment to the community," Coats concluded. "Plus, it’s a great time!" The Biscuits will open a five-game series against the Mississippi Braves on Saturday night at Riverwalk Stadium. Tickets for each of the five games are available by logging on to BiscuitsBaseball.com, calling the Biscuits at (334) 323-2255 or by visiting the Biscuits Box Office at Riverwalk Stadium.
