Sunday Rays Notes

Tampa Bay RaysA sellout crowd of 7,147 watched the Rays beat the Red Sox 15-7 on Saturday at Charlotte Sports Park. It was the largest crowd ever at the facility and was the Rays’ 2nd sellout of the spring, both against the Red Sox (6,629 on February 27th).

LF Jon Weber knocked in a Rays spring club record 6 RBI on Saturday with a home run and a double. Most RBI in a spring game for the Rays:

Entering Sunday's game the Rays are 2-0 against the Red Sox this spring, with two games remaining, today and March 31st.

The Rays scored just one run their first two Grapefruit League games while batting just .145 (9-62). Since then the club has hit at a .296 clip (73-247) while scoring 63 runs (9/game).

Spring Rankings: The Rays 64 runs scored are 4th most in the majors, and only the Cardinals have a higher runs per game (7.7) than the Rays (7.1). The Rays 28 doubles are most in the majors this spring. Rays pitchers have issued just 19 walks in 8 games, fewest in the majors.
