Bowling Green drops game one of doubleheader against Lake County

The Game: The Bowling Green Hot Rods lost to Lake County 1-0 in game one of a double header on Sunday at Bowling Green Ballpark. An error in the final frame broke the tie and led to defeat.

The game remained tied until the final inning of the game when Lake County scored a run. Gregory Folgia double to right to get things started. Scott Shuman then threw away the pickoff attempt and the winning run scored.

Jason McEachern pitched 6 shut-out innings in the no decision, giving up 3 hits with 2 strikeouts and 2 walks. Scott Shuman suffered the loss, allowing an unearned run on 2 hits in an inning on the mound.

A Look Ahead: The Hot Rods will conclude the doubleheader against Lake County on Sunday evening. Shane Dyer will start for Bowling Green.

  1. The losing streak ended at 9. Shane Dyer pitched a complete 7 inning shutout in the nightcap. Hot Rods won the game 3 to 0. Dyer only allowed 4 hits, got 6 K's and allowed 0 walks. Another solid outing.
