  1. There is a poster here named diamondtom that reports on Hot Rods. If he is the team radio announcer, here is some feedback:

    The Good:

    Nice professional radio voice

    Good knowledge of the game

    The Bad:

Often discussing things that have nothing to do with the game

Some at bats are almost over before updating the count

Please report the game and not Bowling Green local news while the game is going on - in between innings it is ok

Please, please end having kids in the booth and asking them innane questions over several innings. Have no idea what is going on in the game at that time and frankly nobody other than one kid's family cares.

Other than that, keep up the good work.

  2. I am just a fan and definitely do not have a radio voice. You shoud direct your comments to Tom Gautheir, the voice of the Hot Rods. He can be reached at BGHOTRODS.com.

  4. Anon:

I would first off like to agree with diamondtom in that you should contact Tom personally via the contact listed on the Bowling Green website. Constructive criticism is not a bad thing, but a public forum isn't always the best place and a good comment can sometimes be taken bad in the public eye.

Couple things to think of on the coverage. They are being covered live on 1340 AM in Bowling Green. Because of this, they are probably operating on a delay to avoid any bad language or slip ups from going over the air. The FCC regulations on content have most live radio broadcast operating on a delay to avoid the possibity of fines.

Second, because they are on a local radio station, the network may dictate some of the content. Some of the local news talk may be an attempt to draw fans from the talk radio genre. Baseball and news in one place..

Not sure if any of these are the reasons why, just some observations I have seen throughout the years.
