6/2: The Rundown

Durham Bulls 6, Buffalo Bisons 4
Box | Recap
Notes: Durham improved to 33-18... Chris Mason made the start in place of Mitch Talbot, who evidently was scratched with shoulder stiffness. Mason allowed 4 earned runs in 4 innings... Jason Childers got the win and Dale Thayer picked up the save... The Bulls had 8 hits: 2 each from Rashad Eldridge, John Jaso, Ray Olmedo, and Brandon Chaves... Jaso hit his 2nd HR of the year...

Montgomery Biscuits 6, Jacksonville Suns 1
Box | Recap
Notes: The Biscuits improved to 25-22... Brandon Mann wasn't at his best, but he allowed just a run in 6 innings and got the win when Montgomery broke out for 5 runs in their half of the 6th. Eduardo Morlan pitched two scoreless relief innings... Desmond Jennings was 1-5 with a double... J.T. Hall and Pedro Powell drove in two runs apiece...

Charlotte Stone Crabs 8, Tampa Yankees 2
Box | Recap
Notes: Charlotte improved to 24-22... Alex Cobb turned in another solid start, allowing two runs in 5 innings. He struck out 6 and walked 1... Austin Hinkle and Rayner Oliveros each pitched two scoreless innings in relief. Hinkle struck out 3 but also walked 3... The top of the Crabs' order(Salem, O'Malley, Sexton, and Fields) combined to go 9 for 20 with two doubles, a triple, and a homerun...

Bowling Green Hot Rods 7, Rome Braves 4
Box | Recap
Notes: Bowling Green improved to 24-26... Matt Moore again racked up a high pitch count, but his defense didn't help out: all three runs he allowed in his 4 innings of work were unearned. Moore struck out 6 and only walked 1... Tim Beckham was 0-3 with a walk. He committed his 14th error... Mike Sheridan hit his 6th homerun of the year as part of a 2-4 night... Kyeong Kang was also 2-4...
