The Tampa Bay Rays have made the following roster moves affecting Double-A Montgomery prior to their series with West Tenn: INF Brandon Chaves returned from Durham (AAA), RHP Chad Bradford transferred to Durham to continue MLB rehab assignment. [24 + 2]
Chaves returning to Montgomery is part of a chain-reaction from the return of SS Jason Bartlett to the Rays from the disabled list. SS Reid Brignac was optioned to Durham (AAA), sending Chaves back to Montgomery. Chaves hit .279 in 18 games with the Bulls, driving in seven runs. Due to walking 11 times, his on-base percentage stood at .394.
Chaves will again wear uniform #20 upon his return to the Biscuits.
The Biscuits are now at the Southern League maximum of 24 active players. Two players (Jeremy Hellickson, Jason Perry) are currently on the disabled list.
