Princeton Rays Promotions

Princeton RaysThe Princeton Rays already have promotions booked for 27 of their 34 home games for the 2009 Appalachian League season. Some highlights include a joint effort with the Bluefield Orioles to raise money in the fight against breast cancer:
The back-to-back games involved will be when the Princeton Rays play at Bluefield's Bowen Field on the night of July 29 to be followed the next night when the Orioles visit Princeton's Hunnicutt Field. Starting times for both games are slated for 7:00 p.m.

Both teams during the course of the July 29 game will be wearing pink ballcaps featuring their team logos that will leave at the end of the game with fans who enter successful bids for each respective cap through a silent auction that will be conducted during the game. A new set of caps will be issued to both teams for the July 30 game and the process will be repeated. Each ballcap both nights will be autographed after each game by the player that wore it for the winning bidders.

The P-Rays even have a contest for fans to design their own promotion night ($1,500 budget), with the winning entry receiving a $100 prize:
One follower of Princeton Rays professional baseball will be able to demonstrate they have a creative knack in baseball promoting and win $100.00 while doing it. This will come as a result of the P-Rays' new "Fans Design A Promotional Night" contest. The corporate sponsor of the contest is Dr. Zane Lawhorn, a local optometrist based in Princeton who, in addition to providing the $100.00 cash prize to the winner, will make an amount of up to $1,500.00 available to help the idea come to life.

The contest is based on contestants submitting an essay (not to exceed 200 words) outlining a promotional night for the P-Rays to conduct at the team's Tuesday, August 11 home game this summer. Contestants can only submit their entries via the internet by going to the P-Rays website at www.princetonrays.net, where they will find a contest entry form link that accompanies the story on the main rotating picture area known as the site's "media wall." Also, by going to the contest link, prospective entrants will find a complete and specific set of eligibility rules and regulations for this contest.

The P-Rays will also have several games with free or reduced admission prices:

June 23rd - Free admission to everyone. (no ticket required)

June 29th - Free admission to youth baseball players wearing their jersey tops.

July 1st - Admission for only $1.00 for business people with their business card at this special noon game.
