Minor League Spring Training

Rays Spring TrainingSpring training begins today for the Rays minor league players. Pitchers and catchers report to minor league camp today (March 5th), followed by positional players on March 9th. Games begin March 17th, and the month long spring training will break camp April 5th.

Here is the daily schedule:

March 3rd - Staff Reports (Staff Roster)
March 5th - Pitchers and Catchers Report
March 6th - 1st Pitcher/Catcher Workout
March 9th - Posistion Players Report
March 10th - First Full Squad Workout

Once games begin, the AAA and AA squads travel together, and the A+ and A squads travel together. Here is the game schedule, with all games scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.:

March 17th vs. Minnesota organization: AAA and AA at HOME; A+ and A on the ROAD
March 18th vs. Cincinnati organization: AAA and AA on the ROAD; A+ and A at HOME
March 19th vs. Baltimore organization: AAA and AA at HOME; A+ and A on the ROAD
March 20th CAMP DAY
March 21st vs. Boston organization: AAA and AA on the ROAD; A+ and A at HOME
March 22nd vs. Minnesota organization: AAA and AA at HOME; A+ and A on the ROAD
March 23rd vs. Cincinnati organization: AAA and AA on the ROAD; A+ and A at HOME
March 24th vs. Baltimore organization: AAA and AA on the ROAD; A+ and A at HOME
March 25th CAMP DAY
March 26th vs. Baltimore organization: AAA and AA at HOME; A+ and A on the ROAD
March 27th vs. Minnesota organization: AAA and AA on the ROAD; A+ and A at HOME
March 28th vs. Cincinnati organization: AAA and AA on the ROAD; A+ and A at HOME
March 29th vs. Baltimore organization: AAA and AA at HOME; A+ and A on the ROAD
March 30th CAMP DAY

  2. I believe it is basically a practice, maybe with intrasquad games.

  3. Sorry, didn't see the question. What #2 said, plus meetings, drills and so forth. Just no games against other clubs.
