Scores and Highlights from 8/5

Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs 4, Durham Bulls 3
Stephen Vogt was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI's. Daniel Mayora was 2 for 4. Ray Olmedo was 2 for 4. Leslie Anderson had a double.



Montgomery Biscuits 6, Mobile Bay Bears 2
Biscuits had four doubles in the night (Tim Beckham, Henry Wrigley, Kyeong Kang and Matt Sweeney). Kang and Jon Shelby each had 2 RBI's. Shawn O'Malley had 2 stolen bases. Jim Paduch was the winner. Matt Bush threw 2 no-hit innings with 4 strikeouts.



Palm Beach Cardinals 6, Charlotte Stone Crabs 0
Tyler Bortnick was the only Stone Crab to reach base twice, once via hit and other via walk. Omar Luna pitched 1 inning and was the only pitcher not to surrender a run.



Fort Wayne Tin Caps 7, Bowling Green Hot Rods 2
Keith Castillo had a double and an RBI. Nick Schwaner has an RBI.



Aberdeen Iron Birds 10, Hudson Valley Renegades 3
Leonardo Reginatto had a two run homer. Brian Bryles had a triple. Chris Winder drove home a run. Brooks Belter pitched 3 no-hit innings. Charlie Cononie added 2 no-hit innings.



Danville Braves 7, Princeton Rays 5
Junior Rodriguez was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI's. Ryan Brett added 2 RBI's. Deshun Dixon provided a double. Shay Crawford provided 2 no-hit innings and has yet to allow an earned run with the P-Rays.



GCL Orioles 8, GCL Rays 6
Ariel Soriano was 2 for 4 with 2 stolen bases. Ismel Antunez was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Johnny Eierman had a triple. Michael Bourdon had a double and an RBI. Issac Gil pitched 1 1/3 no-hit innings.


DSL Rays, DSL Red Sox (Postponed: Rain)




VSL Rays 10, VSL Tigers 1
Leopaldo Correa was 3 for 4 with a double, home run and 5 RBI's. Franklin Paz had a two-run homer. Douglas Duran had a solo homer. Oscar Hernandez had a double. Luis Cabrera was the winner.

  1. Keith Castillo has been a good pickup for the Hot Rods. TB signed him from an independent league in California. He has a good bat and works well with the pitchers from the cathers position. The only drawback may be his arm, but since he doesn't catch that much it is hard to evaluate at this time. He is atheletic and could play other positions if needed.
