The Tampa Bay Rays have made the following moves affecting the roster of Double-A Montgomery prior to Tuesday’s game with Birmingham:

LHP Darin Downs placed on Disabled List, OF Jason Perry activated from Disabled List after completing minor league rehab assignment with GCL Rays [24 + 2].

Downs was struck by a line drive during Monday’s series opener against the Barons. The following is the statement regarding his condition from the Tampa Bay Rays:
Montgomery Biscuits pitcher Darin Downs was struck on the left side of the head by a line drive during last night’s Southern League game at Birmingham. He was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham and remains there in serious, but stable condition.
Perry has been on the Disabled List since May 27th, after breaking a bone in his wrist after being hit by a pitch from Carolina’s Alexander Smit.

The corresponding moves keep the Biscuits at the Southern League maximum of 24 active players. Two players (Downs, Neal Frontz) are currently on the Disabled List.
