Charlotte Stone Crabs drop game two of doubleheader against Jupiter

Charlotte Stone CrabsThe Game: The Charlotte Stone Crabs split Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Jupiter Hammerheads by losing game two 1-0 at Charlotte Sports Park. The Hammerheads scored the loan run of the game in the Osvaldo Martinez drew a walk and then later scored on an RBI double by Spike McDougall to give the Hammerheads the 1-0 win.

Jeremy Hall provided another quality start, pitching 5 shut-out innings and allowing 3 hits while striking out 9 and walking 3. Austin Hinkle picked up the loss, allowing 1 run on 1 hit with a strikeout and a walk in 2 innings.

What Went Right: Jeremy Hall; 5 shut-out innings with 9 K’s in the no decision.

What Went Wrong: Reid Fronk; 0-3 with 2 K’s.

A Look Ahead: The Stone Crabs and Hammerheads wrap up the series on Thursday at Charlotte Sports Park. Alex Cobb (8-5) will be on the mound for Charlotte.
