Bowling Green Hot Rods Game Cancelled

Bowling Green Hot Rods[Via email from the Bowling Green Hot Rods' broadcaster Tom Gauthier.]

After three days of heavy rains before, during, and after the first three games of the series, it was only fitting that the final game between the Hot Rods (20-15, 54-51) and Savannah Sand Gnats fell victim to one last whipping from Mother Nature. Monday night’s game at Grayson Stadium was cancelled hours before the teams were to take the field for the final meeting before the Hot Rods head to the Midwest League in 2010. Because it was the final scheduled meeting between the clubs the game will not be made up resulting in a 69 game second-half schedule for the Hot Rods.

The Hot Rods took two out of three in Savannah, winning the season series 6-5. They continue their road trip on Tuesday night in Asheville, NC, against the first place Tourists. LHP Frank De Los Santos (4-6, 3.58) opens the series for the Hot Rods against Asheville RHP Jonathan Aristil (1-6, 5.11). First pitch on Tuesday night is 6:05 PM CDT from McCormick Field. You can follow the action with Tom Gauthier on 1340 WBGN and www.bghotrods.com beginning at 5:45 PM CDT.

The Hot Rods return home to begin an eight-game home stand on Saturday, August 8 at 7:05 PM. The first 1,000 fans into that night’s game against Greenville (Boston Red Sox) will received a replica of Bowling Green Ballpark courtesy of BB&T. For tickets, visit www.bghotrods.com or head to the Hot Rods ticket office at the corner of 8th Avenue and Center Street at Bowling Green Ballpark.
