Scores and Highlights from 5/30

Durham Bulls 7, Columbus Clippers 4
Alex Torres didn't issue a walk for the first time this season, but he did allow eleven hits leading to four runs (three earned) in 6.2 innings. He struck out five. Jake McGee struck out two in a perfect 9th inning. Brandon Guyer hit his eighth home run of the year, and Russ Canzler and Chris Carter also went deep. Desmond Jennings came in as a defensive replacement and hit a triple in his one at-bat.

Jackson Generals 7, Montgomery Biscuits 4
Nick Barnese struck out four and walked two in four scoreless innings. Paul Phillips allowed a run but the big damage was done against Matt Bush, who allowed six runs in one inning of work. Cole Figueroa, Daniel Mayora, Matt Sweeney, and Reid Fronk had the only four Biscuit hits, with Sweeney driving in three with a bases-clearing double in the first inning.

Charlotte Stone Crabs off day




Lansing Lugnuts 11, Bowling Green Hot Rods 7
Jimmy Patterson made the spot-start and allowed five runs in 3 innings. Omar Bencomo and Steve Hiscock allowed three runs each. Cody Rogers went 3-5 at the plate, Robby Price was 2-5, and Robi Estrada finished 2-3 with three runs scored. Alejandro Torres hit his first home run of the year.
