News and Highlights from 5/16

Durham Bulls rained out





Birmingham Barons 3, Montgomery Biscuits 0
Matt Moore struck out eight and walked one in 5.1 innings. He allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits. Matt Bush struck out two but allowed a run in his inning of work. The Biscuits collected just four hits, singles by Cole Figueroa, Tim Beckham, Stephen Vogt, and Daniel Mayora.

Lakeland Flying Tigers 6, Charlotte Stone Crabs 5
Alex Colome allowed two runs, both on solo home runs, in 7 innings. He struck out six and didn't walk a hitter. Adam Liberatore allowed three runs in one inning, and Deivis Mavarez allowed the deciding home run. Matt Hall, Brett Nommensen, and Greg Sexton each had two hits.

Bowling Green Hot Rods 10, South Bend Silver Hawks 3
Cody Rogers went 4-5 with a triple, Kevin Kiermaier was 3-5 with two triples, and Phil Wunderlich homered and drove in four to lead the offense. Enny Romero walked seven in just 3.2 innings. He limited the damage to two runs, and struck out two. Jimmy Patterson got the win with three scoreless innings.
