Scores and Highlights from 5/24

Columbus Clippers 5, Durham Bulls 3
Alex Torres allowed five runs on seven hits in 5 innings. He struck out two and walked three. Desmond Jennings and Brandon Guyer each homered. Ray Olmedo went 4-5, and Russ Canzler and J.J. Furmaniak each reached base twice.

Montgomery Biscuits off day




Charlotte Stone Crabs 12, Dunedin Blue Jays 2
Hak-Ju Lee went 3-4 and also reached on a walk and hit by pitch. He stole his 13th base of the season. Tyler Bortnick hit his first home run of the season and Jake Jefferies and Anthony Scelfo also went deep. Those three plus Greg Sexton and Mark Thomas all had two hits apiece. Kyle Lobstein struck out five and walked one over 5.1 innings. He allowed two runs on six hits.

Bowling Green Hot Rods 10, West Michigan Whitecaps 2
Hector Guevara went 3-5 and Cody Rogers, Kevin Kiermaier, and Robby Price each had two hits. Price also drew two walks to raise his OBP to .455 on the season. George Jensen pitched five scoreless innings and Eliazer Suero pitched the final four, allowing the only Whitecaps runs.

  1. I hope those 3 hits help jumpstart Guevara's bat. Ever since he hit great in the VSL(I think it was the VSL), he hasnt hit that much here in the states.
