Wednesday's Scores and Highlights

Louisville Bats 4, Durham Bulls 8
Bulls trail 1-0. Leslie Anderson was 2 for 3 with a home run and 3 RBI's. JJ Furmaniak was 2 for 4. Nevin Ashley drove home a run. Joe Dillon scored 3 of the 4 runs. Dale Thayer provided 1 2/3 innings of no-hit relief with 3 strikeouts. Richard De Los Santos suffered the loss. Aneury Rodriguez will start game two of the series on Thursday night.

Bradenton Marauders 2, Charlotte Stone Crabs 10
Series tied 1-1. Stephen Vogt was 2 for 5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI's. Tim Beckham was 2 for 3 with a triple and an RBI. Greg Sexton was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's. Matt Hall was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's. Reid Fronk and Jake Jefferies also drove home a run each. Joe Cruz picked up the win, pitching 6 2/3 innings and striking out 7. Shane Dyer recorded the save, providing 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief with 2 strikeouts. The series wraps up on Thurday, Alex Colome will start the decisive game three on Thursday night.

  2. If the Stone Crabs are going to start Colome they would be wise to get a reliever up as soon as he finishes his warm up pitches. He has a tendency to give up 4 or 5 runs early before settling down. I don't think Charlotte wants to start a one and done game 5 runs in the hole.
