AFL: Javelinas lose 3-2

Peoria JavelinasLast night in the Arizona Fall League the Peoria Javelinas fell to the Scottsdale Scorpions 3-2. J.T. Hall drove in both runs with a triple in the 8th. He was 1-3 with a walk. Rhyne Hughes was 1-4 (double) with a strikeout. Matt Spring was 0-4 with a strikeout. Ryan Reid went 2 scoreless innings giving up 2 hits and striking out 4. Twenty-two of his thirty pitches were strikes. Chris Mason also came on in relief and pitched a third of an inning with a walk and a strikeout.

Today the Javelinas (10-8) play the Phoenix Desert Dogs (10-8) at 2:35 pm EST in a battle of the National Division leaders. Phil Hughes (NYY) will start for the Javelinas as they try to snap the Desert Dogs four game winning streak.

UPDATE 2:35 pm: Stephen Kahn of the Mariners organization is now scheduled to start for the Javelinas. Rays in the starting lineup include Desmond Jennings in LF batting 9th and J.T. Hall in RF batting 5th.
