Minor Moves: McCormick, Hauschild

Michael McCormickCatcher Michael McCormick has been assigned to the Charlotte Stone Crabs from the Bowling Green Hot Rods. The 22 year-old hit .165/.272/.252 in 218 AB's this season for the Hot Rods. He was originally drafted by the Rays out of Marist High School (Eugene, OR) in the 5th round of the 2005 draft.

Catcher Tyler Hauschild has been assigned to the Bowling Green Hot Rods from the Princeton Rays to replace McCormick.

  1. I have a feeling that either Thomas or Acosta,(catchers),will soon be moved up to Bowling Green. I assume that the catcher would probably get more playing time at Hudson Valley, and the one at Bowling Green would alternate with Jefferies or be backup catcher. Anyone else thinking along those lines?

  4. why would tb promote mccormick with a mere .165 avg and then play him 2 games in a row? what happened to lopez and paxton? are they hurt?
