Scores and Highlights from 8/26

Durham Bulls 4, Norfolk Tides 3
The Bulls swept the Tides to win their sixth straight game. Rich Thompson was 3 for 4 with a double. Sean Rodriguez was 2 for 4 with a double, home run and 2 RBI’s. Tim Beckham had a solo home run. Cesar Ramos pitched 6 scoreless innings for the win. Brandon Gomes notched the save.



Jacksonville Suns 7, Montgomery Biscuits 3
The Biscuits lost their fourth game in a row following Sunday’s loss to Jacksonville. Mike Sheridan, Greg Sexton and Ty Morrison each had two hits. Mayo Acosta had a two run homer. Derek Dietrich had a double. Kyle Lobstein suffered the loss.



Charlotte Stone Crabs, St Lucie Mets (Cancelled)
Sunday’s game between the Stone Crabs and Mets was cancelled due to Tropical Storm Isaac. This was the last meeting between these two teams so it will not be rescheduled.



Bowling Green Hot Rods 10, South Bend Silver Hawks 4
For the second straight game, the Hot Rods offense put up ten runs to defeat the Silver Hawks. Jake Hager was 3 for 5 with a double. Cameron Seitzer had a double and 3 RBI’s. Josh Sale had a double and 3 RBI’s. Kes Carter drove home two runs. Jake Hager had a double. Parker Markel was the winner and Jake Partridge the save.



Hudson Valley Renegades 3, Aberdeen Iron Birds 0
The Renegades shut-out the Iron Birds for their third straight series sweep to extend the winning streak to nine games. Richie Shaffer was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s. Joel Caminero had a double. Jesse Hahn pitched 5 scoreless innings with 7 strikeouts. Brandon Henderson earned the win and Ryan Garton picked up the save.



Princeton Rays 8, Elizabethton Twins 6 (10 innings) 
The P-Rays scored two runs in the tenth inning to win the series opener against the Twins. John Alexander had 3 hits and 2 RBI’s. Oscar Hernandez drove home 2 runs. Brandon Martin had a double. Zach Butler recorded the win and Jonathan Weaver the save.

  1. With September call ups, hitting Durham and MAyo Acosta fracturing his ankle how do you think the player shuffling will affect the lower level teams who are both headed into the playoffs.
