Minor Moves: Crawford, Scott

Renegades reliever Shay Crawford has been promoted to the Bowling Green Hot Rods this morning. Crawford is 1-0 with a 2.76 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 14 games this season. He is second on the team in saves with three.

Crawford is in his second season with the Rays organization. He was signed in the 41st round of the 2011 draft out of Lee University.

Also in transaction news, Luke Scott joined the Stone Crabs for his MLB rehab assignment beginning yesterday. Scott who has been on the DL since July 21 with an oblique strain is expected to be with the Stone Crabs for the weekend and possibly make a return to Tampa Bay for their trip to Seattle.

[Added by Doug]: LHP Alex Torres has been assigned to the GCL Rays roster on a rehab assignment from the Durham Bulls DL. He threw 3.0 scoreless innings against the GCL Orioles today, striking out 6 of 11 batters faced and only allowing 2 singles and no walks.

The corresponding move for Bowling Green: RHP Jason McEachern has been placed on the 7-day disabled list.

  2. It's Alex Torres to the GCL Rays on rehab. We called this a week or so ago - made up injury to get him out of Durham, assigned to GCL to work with staff.

  4. Don't know who made the decision to sens Luke Scott to Charlotte with the entire wewkend forecast for rain, but having injured guys play on wet fields has never really seemed a good idea...
