Scores and Highlights from 8/10

Durham Bulls 1, Toledo Mud Hens 1 (Suspended) 
After a two hour rain delay, Friday night’s series opener against the Mud Hens was suspended. The game was stopped with a 1-1 tied in the fourth inning. The game will resume on Saturday with the Mud Hens batting and the bases loaded with two outs.



Jackson Generals 4, Montgomery Biscuits 2 
The Biscuits put the tying run on base in ninth but were unable to push across the runs as they fell to the Generals. Ty Morrison was 2 for 4 with a triple. Kyeong Kang was 2 for 4. Mikie Mahtook had a solo home run. Derek Dietrich and Omar Luna each had a double. CJ Riefenhauser suffered the loss, striking out 8 hitters in 4 1/3 innings. Shane Dyer and Marquis Fleming provided 4 2/3 scoreless innings of relief.


Charlotte Stone Crabs, Jupiter Hammerheads (Postponed) 
Friday’s series opener between the Stone Crabs and the Hammerheads was postponed due to storms in the area of Charlotte Sports Park. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday.


South Bend Silver Hawks 2, Bowling Green Hot Rods 1 
The Hot Rods surrendered a run in the ninth to suffer a narrow defeat to the Silver Hawks. Kes Carter was 2 for 2 with a double, 2 walks and 2 stolen bases. Jeff Malm was 2 for 4 with a double. Jake Hager had a triple. Charlie Cononie suffered the loss.


Lowell Spinners 9, Hudson Valley Renegades 5 
The Hot Rods watched their six game winning streak come to an end with a 9-5 loss to the Spinners. Luke Maile was 2 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBI’s. Mike Williams was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Ryan Dunn had a double and an RBI. Eduar Quinonez suffered the loss.


Greeneville Astros 5, Princeton Rays 0
The P-Rays struggled offensively as they were shut-out for the second consecutive night, this time at the hands of the Astros. The P-Rays had just one hit in the game, a triple by Andrew Toales. Kevin Brandt was the losing pitcher for the P-Rays.


GCL Orioles 6, GCL Rays 1 
The GCL Rays watched an early one run lead disappear as they lost to the GCL Orioles in a rare GCL night game. Jiminson Natera had the only extra base hit for the Rays, a triple in the second inning. Geisel De La Cruz was charged with the loss for the GCL Rays.


DSL Rays 11, DSL Royals 2
The DSL Rays offense provided 17 hits in the game to help score 11 runs in a big win over the Royals. Julio Herrera was a perfect 5 for 5. Cristian Toribio was 3 for 6 with a triple and 2 RBI’s. Elias Torres was 3 for 4 with an RBI. Ismael Aguero had a double and an RBI. Ruben Parades was the winning pitcher for the Rays.
