Scores and Highlights from 8/14

Durham Bulls 6, Columbus Clippers 3
The Bulls stopped their recent losing streak with a Tuesday night win over the Clippers. Leslie Anderson was 3 for 4. Stephen Vogt was 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI. Brooks Conrad was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Reid Brignac had a triple and 2 RBI’s. Matt Torra picked up the win, his seventh in a row.



Montgomery Biscuits 4, Huntsville Stars 1
The Biscuits won their third straight game after defeating the Stars I the series opener. Omar Luna had a solo home run. Brett Nommenesn, Derek Dietrich and Mark Thomas each had a double. Merrill Kelly pitched 5 shut-out innings for the win. Kirby Yates picked up the save.



 Bradenton Marauders 5, Charlotte Stone Crabs 4 
The Stone Crabs gave up the decisive go-ahead run late in the game as they fell to the Marauders in the series opener on Tuesday. Luke Scott was 2 for 4 with a two-run homer. Phil Wunderlich was 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Todd Glaesmann was 2 for 4 with a double. Kevin Kiermaier had a triple. Jeff Niemann pitched 3 1/3 innings. Matt Nevarez pitched 2 2/3 no-hit innings with 4 strikeouts. TJ Geith suffered the loss.



Burlington Royals 8, Princeton Rays 2
The P-Rays dropped the series opener against the Royals. Oscar Hernandez was 2 for 3 with a double. Ismel Antunez was 2 for 4. Ariel Soriano had a triple and an RBI. Omar Narvaez had a double. Eli Echarry suffered the loss. Dan Bream provided a scoreless inning of relief. Pedro Silvestre pitched a no-hit 2/3 inning.



GCL Red Sox 7, GCL Rays 5 
The GCL Rays lost a night game to the GCL Red Sox on Tuesday night. Jiminson Natera was 2 for 5 with a double. Ben Kline was 2 for 5 with an RBI. Spencer Edwards was 2 for 5. Bralin Jackson, Doug Duran and Clayton Henning each had an RBI. Carlos Cedeno suffered the loss.



DSL Dodgers 7, DSL Rays 5
Alexander Simon was 3 for 4 with a triple, home run and 4 RBI’s. Cristian Toribio was 2 for 5 with a double. Enmanuel Paulino was 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI. Jose Alonzo was charged with the loss. Carlos Garcia pitched 3 no-hit innings and Rafael Cordova had 2 shut-out innings.
