Scores and Highlights from 8/24

Durham Bulls 8, Norfolk Tides 3
The Bulls won their fourth straight game following a Friday night win over the Tides. Tim Beckham was 3 for 5 with an RBI. Leslie Anderson was 2 for 5 with a home run. Stephen Vogt was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Henry Wrigley and Jesus Feliciano were also 2 for 4. Chris Gimenez had a three run homer. Reid Brignac drove home two runs. Matt Torra picked up the win. Dane De La Rosa earned the save.



Jacksonville Suns 6, Montgomery Biscuits 2 
The Biscuits lost their series opener to the Suns. Ryan Garko was 3 for 4 with an RBI. Omar Luna was 2 for 4 with a double. Mike Sheridan and Mark Thomas each had 2 hits. Merrill Kelly was charged with the loss.



St Lucie Mets 6, Charlotte Stone Crabs 5 
The Stone Crabs late rally fell short as they dropped the series opener for their fourth straight loss. Robi Estrada was 3 for 3 with a double. Victor Mateo suffered the loss. The bullpen team of Jimmy Patterson, Alex Koronis and Lenny Linsky pitched 5 1/3 scoreless frames.



Dayton Dragons 8, Bowling Green Hot Rods 4 
The Hot Rods lost the series finale against the Dragons. Ben Kline made his Hot Rods debut, going 2 for 4 with a solo home run in his first at-bat. Josh Sale and Juniel Querecuto also had 2 hits. Taylor Motter had a double. Ryan Carpenter was the losing pitcher.



Hudson Valley Renegades 8, Aberdeen Iron Birds 7
The Renegades won their seventh game in a row following a win in the series opener against Aberdeen. Leonardo Reginatto was 3 for 4. Charles Epperson was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Luke Maile was also 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Jake DePew had 2 hits and an RBI. Taylor Guerrieri pitched 5 shut-out innings with 3 hits and 7 strikeouts. Jose Molina was the winning pitcher and Ryan Garton got the save.



Bristol White Sox 5, Princeton Rays 3
The P-Rays lost their second straight games to the Sox as they lost on Friday night. Darryl George was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI’s. John Alexander was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. Eli Echarry suffered the loss.



GCL Orioles 3, GCL Rays 2 (Game One, 13 innings) 
The Rays lost the first game of the doubleheader in extra innings. The game was originally suspended on 8/18 tied 2-2 in the sixth. The Rays got three hits but could not score a run as they lost to the home team in the 13th inning. Dayne Quist was the losing pitcher.



GCL Rays 1, GCL Orioles 0 (Game Two)
The Rays walked away with 1-0 shut-out win to split Friday’s doubleheader. Isaias Velasquez was 2 for 3 with a double. Armando Araiza and Jiminson Natera and Cesar Perez each had a double. Perez drove home the games lone run. Alex Torres pitched 3 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts. Isaac Gil followed with 4 more scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts for the win.
