  1. Dang Its starting to look like Vogt is the real deal! I hope so, the major league team could use a good batter like that in the near future. I'm sure he wont play at catche, but maybe if he learned
1st or could continue being a DH. Do you guys think because of his age of 26 next year, the Rays might have him skip AA and put him straight in AAA or not?

  2. Vogt was a lot of fun to watch in Charlotte this season. In addition to being a consistant bat, he was very much a team leader.

As for skipping AA, I don't think so. He is where he should be in regards to the other players of the 2007 Draft. He would have probably been AA this season had he not missed most of last year due to injury.

My personal opinion is he starts AA next season.

  3. Vogt has 14 AB thats just a handfull. if they are that serious about him i think 14 AB is insulting to the kid. one good game aint gonna get ya to the pros. glad to see the core group of hitters doin well in AZ. wrigley needs 3-4 more hits and he will be right there with Anderson and Chavez. overall aside from from average all of them production wise are doing fine

  4. What else is Steve Vogt supposed to do to show Tampa Bay that he's the real deal????

  5. hes got to show more power. 4 seasons with a high of 8 HR 2010thats the issue. him having an above average OPS is a good thing.

  6. The 14 AB's for Vogt is misleading. The team he is playing for, Cartenga Tigers, have only played 4 games. So the 14 AB's is comparable for the amount of games played.

As for power, he has not shown the type of power as Big Wrigs, but he isn't too far behind. I mean come on, the Vogt went yard three times his last game...can't beat that.

Also keep in mind that the organization is not responsible for the number of AB's being given to Vogt. He is playing in the Colombian league which is a make-up of some US ballplayers but mainly Colombian players. Naturally the native Colombians will get their fair share of AB's regardless of how good their American counterparts are doing.

But all and all, no knock on either player Vogt or Wrigley. They are both great ballplayers and they each have attributes that will hopefully benefit the big club in the near future.

  7. vogt should have taken one of the pitchers roster spots that they sent to AZ to get more ABs. hey are you gonna do a rule 5 preview at all??? tampa is known for drafting not only talented players and developing them, but players with great team player attitudes aswell. how is navarro still a ray after pretty much giving them the finger when they dropped him from the playoff roster? there are many others left off their team 25 man post season roster and they are there supporting their team not being a big baby about it.
