Tuesday starter vs Great Lakes: LH Felipe Rivero. Projected for the rest of the week: Wednesday - RH Parker Markel, Thursday - LH Ryan Carpenter, Friday - RH Roberto Gomez, Saturday - RH Jake Floethe.

Today's moves: LH Adam Liberatore and RH Jim Paduch were sent from Durham to Montgomery, OF Isaias Velasquez was put on the Montgomery DL after a fly ball to the face on Sunday, Alex Cobb back to Durham from Tampa, RH Brandon Gomes to Tampa from Durham, and CIF/COF Steve Tinoco activated by Charlotte.

On the Depth Chart the Montgomery roster shows as 27, 2 over the limit, but B.J. Upton doesn't count since he's on MLB rehab and Paduch hasn't been officially activated yet because he pitched in Durham on Sunday. So they really are at 25, but I didn't have any more room in the DL/RES area for Paduch.

  1. Amazing that you go from 21 runs to 2 walk off runs! Baseball is a great game...Pitchers dual! Floethe had another outstanding start 11 ground balls and 3 hits - 1 a flair, 2 a bunt and finally a double and first walk in 16 innings! Mac was finally pitching like he can - No hits -if he gets on track with Partridge, Belatti and Thomas, who has pitched well but has had bad luck, this team will be strong all year long...can't wait to go to todays game. Rivero has electric stuff!!! Good to see Hager step up, he has been struggling but what a ball player...he and Goeddel are going to be special.

    1. Just out of curiosity, how hard has Rivero been throwing?

  2. Rivero has been weird! He touches 94 but usually sits 86-91. He throws alot of changes which is a plus pitch but his curve is shakey. He keeps everyone off balance and he pounds the strike zone same as Floethe, Carpenter, Markel and Gomez. 5 walks by all the starters in over 60 innings pitched. I don't think he changes speeds on purpose but it works for him.

    1. For now it's catcher Alejandro Torres from XST. Leaves them short at OF, but Matt Rice's shoulder has been bothering him, so they need help behind the plate too.

  5. Oh I was hoping they were going to send up an outfielder. I think Torres was actually there just inactive
