Scores and Highlights from 7/14

Pawtucket Red Sox 3, Durham Bulls 2
Russ Canzler was 2 for 3 with a double. Dan Johnson was 2 for 4. Felipe Lopez had a two-run homer. Alex Cobb pitched 2 shut-out innings. Mike Ekstom and RJ Swindle each had a no-hit inning.

Huntsville Stars 6, Montgomery Biscuits 3
Stephen Vogt had a solo home run and 2 RBI’s. Cole Figueroa had an RBI. Sergio Espinosa had 3 2/3 shut-out innings.


Charlotte Stone Crabs 5, Clearwater Threshers 4
Jake Jefferies was 2 for 3. Ty Morrison was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s both coming in the ninth for the win. Anthony Scelfo was 2 for 4 with a double. Matt Hall had a 2-run homer. Adam Liberatore was the winner.

Cedar Rapids Kernels 8, Bowling Green Hot Rods 2
Derek Dietrich had three of the Hot Rods' five hits including a triple. George Jensen allowed all eight runs on eleven hits in 3.2 innings. James Patterson struck out four and didn't allow a walk or hit in 2.1 innings.

Hudson Valley Renegades 10, Jamestown Jammers 1
Tanner Biagini had three hits and Chris Winder, Jeff Malm, Gerardo Oliveras, Cesar Guillen, and Raymond Chuch had two apiece. Winder homered and doubled. Parker Markel allowed the one run, unearned, in 5 innings. Lenny Linsky struck out two in a scoreless inning

Princeton Rays 7, Burlington Royals 3
Josh Sale and Drew Vettleson each hit their third home run of the year. Cameron Seitzer went 3-4 with three doubles, and Joel Caminero also had three hits. Jeff Ames struck out five with no walks in 4 innings.

GCL Rays 7, GCL Red Sox 4
Brandon Martin was 2 for 4 with a home run and 3 RBI's. Darryl George had a double. Ariel Soriano and Ismel Antunez had RBI's. Shawn Smith picked up the win and Theron Geith the save.

DSL Indians 10, DSL Rays 9




VSL Rays 10, VSL Phillies 5
Wilmer Dominguez was 3 for 5 with an RBI. Jose Bellorin was 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored. Douglas Duran was 2 for 5 with a double and a home run. Darwin Maldonado was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI's. Johan Marval was the winner.

  1. wish princeton was in florida....can't wait for that team to be in charlotte. any guess on when that will be?

  2. My guess would be 2013 or the end of 2012. Wouldn't be surprised if most of them skip Hudson Valley :( and go directly to Bowling Green next year. Then the following year to Port Charlotte.
