February 24th Rays Spring Training Notes

Tampa Bay RaysThe Rays 12th Grapefruit League season begins tomorrow afternoon, the first of 33 games on the spring schedule, 15 at their new spring training home at Charlotte Sports Park. The Rays will also host an exhibition with the Puerto Rican National Team in a precursor to the World Baseball Classic on March 4. The Rays are 5-6 in GL opening games.

Wednesday’s Schedule:
8-9 a.m. – Clubhouse open to media.
9-11 a.m. – Clubhouse closed for MLBPA meeting. The Rays will not take batting practice on the field.
9:30 a.m. – Joe Maddon availability in Rays dugout (first base side) for media.
10:30 a.m. – Parking lots open. Parking will be held in the main lot as well as the fairgrounds across the street.
11:30 a.m. – Gates open.
12:30 p.m. – Media clear field.
1:05 p.m. - Tampa Bay Rays vs. Cincinnati Reds.

A limited number of berm and boardwalk tickets are available for tomorrow. In addition a small quantity of reserved seats will be released. Box offices open at 9 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Tropicana Field Box Office, Charlotte Sports Park Box Office, Tampa Pro Shop, all Ticketmaster locations, via Ticketmaster phonecharge and online at raysbaseball.com or raysbeisbol.com.
