The Rays have lost another minor league free agent. Former top 3B/1b/DH prospect
Joel Guzman has signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals, according to
STATS.com and
MLB.com. It includes an invitation to major league spring training. This is more of a loss for Durham than Tampa Bay. Even though he's still young (just turned 24), and huge (6'6", 250), Durham's loss isn't that great. He only put up a wOBA+ of 98 in 2008. Maybe a change of scenery (again) will do him good.
