NOTES: Minor league affiliate rosters are still in limbo with big league camp still holding at 45 players, but the Stone Crabs did have manager Jim Morrison back at the helm for today’s spring training matchup against the High-A affiliate of the Fort Myers Miracle.

Fort Myers picked up a 6-5 victory over Charlotte on the back fields as new Miracle manager Jake Mauer (brother of Twins catcher Joe Mauer) coached opposite Morrison.

The Tampa Bay Rays made 11 cuts following today’s game, which should create a trickle-down effect for the affiliate rosters tomorrow. Look for a few more familiar faces as the Stone Crabs face off against Salem (Red Sox) in Fort Myers tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.

What’d they say:
Manager Jim Morrison

On rosters:
“A lot of the guys here are going to be bumped down as big league camp bumps guys down. We’re about midway through. Guys are working hard, doing good things, and continuing to work.”

On returning players (Matulia, Fronk and Williams):
“Today was an abnormal day in that our older guys only played three innings and then headed over to play with the big club. Normally, they’d get five or six innings in, but we got them a couple at-bats and then they headed over to help the big league club out.”
