  1. Sweet....Finally a big bat in Durham.....Hopefully Wrigley can right the ship and help offset the CUBAN Disaster in Bulls country ! Your Number Four cleanup hitter should be able to hit more than a single up the middle.Anderson is good number 2 or 3 hitter (I guess at least this year)....Miranda should be given the pink slip....Iam sure it's a front office saving face and or financial in why he's still on roster.

  2. Jose Lobaton is on a rehab assignment with the Stone Crabs for his shoulder. He doesn't count on their active roster, but on the depth chart he shows like he does. Charlotte is really at 24, so they can add another player. Just a bug in my sheet, it auto counts every player, even rehab guys.

The VSL starts Monday and the VSL Rays are just about set. See the depth chart for their roster.

  3. Do you think Jesus Feliciano will ever get called up to the bigs? Had some MLB experience with the Mets, and is playing well in Durham.

  4. Only in an emergency. But then again all of the Rays OFs are nursing injuries, Upton is always day-to-day, Joyce and Guyer recently hurt ankles, and Jennings is limited right now. So I guess it's not as unlikely as it seems.

  5. Interesting VSL guy: Iago Januario, a 19 year-old the Rays have listed as an infielder. He was the Red Sox first sign out of Brazil in July 2009 for $150,000. He pitched in 2010 & 2011 for the DSL Red Sox before he was released. Listed at 6'6", 205 pounds, bats and throws right-handed.

    1. Yes, Nommensen is off the DL, so Charlotte roster is now full at 25 + Lobaton. Montgomery is still one short at 24.

Other than Lobaton, Nommensen is the oldest guy on Charlotte's roster, so I hope he gets going quickly so he can move up to Montgomery. Buente is also older but he's on the DL for the year after shoulder surgery last fall.

  8. Excited about the call up of Wrigley. Nice to see if he has the same success in AAA. Leslie Anderson also plays some OF, and i would like to see him come up if DJ ends up going on the DL. He has at least earned an opportunity.
