Looking Back: 2007 Opening Day Rosters

I was looking through some old notes last night and came across the opening day rosters from 2007 for the Rays full-season teams.

As the Rays minor league pitchers and catchers report to spring training today, let's take a look back at where the organization stood just over four years ago.

  1. Wow. What an interesting post. Sadly, so many of them are now out of baseball. For years, TB has been known for having a strong farm team. It's a shame they let so many of them go these past few months, in favor of players from other teams. (Why were these teams willing to give them up???) I think it's coming back to haunt the Rays. The Rays had something that was working- why did they have to mess with it? (Gone-Gorgen, Qualls, Downs, Choate, Soriano, etc.)

  3. Thought it was interesting too. I looked for older rosters and didn't find, must have pitched them. I do have the 2008 ones, maybe I'll post them next week some time.

    2nd Anon, pitchers and catchers reported to milb camp on the 4th, I think the rest are due in on Monday. We'll post the roster when we get it :).
