Winter League Scores and Highlights from 10/14

Arizona Fall League
Tim Beckham was 4 for 6 with 2 doubles, 2 triples, 4 RBI's and 3 runs scored.
Tyler Bortnick was 1 for 5 with a run scored and a stolen base.




Venezuelan Winter League
Daniel Mayora was 0 for 1 with 2 walks, an RBI and a run scored.
Ray Olmedo was 0 for 3 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored.





Dominican Winter League
Nevin Ashley was 1 for 4 with 2 RBI's.
Cole Figueroa was a pinch runner in the seventh and went 0 for 1 at the plate.
Elliot Johnson was 0 for 3 with 3 walks and a run scored.

  2. Bortnick and one of Beckham's doubles came off of this years #1 pick Gerrit Cole which is a good sign. Beckham also worked a 10 pitch AB against Cole in the first before grounding out.

  4. Beckham's questions appear more to do with his range than his arm, so a move to 2B seems extremely unlikely. A move to 3B would be more natural, although is even more unlikely for obvious reasons

  5. If it is his range,then a move to 2B would actually be more logical than staying at short,where range is much more important.
