2012 Year in Review: Hudson Valley Renegades (Overall)

Over the next few weeks I will recap the 2012 season of each affiliate. This week will focus on the overall season, next week will cover the hitting leaders and the final week will be pitching leaders. Like the week in reviews earlier in the season, each day will bring attention to a different affiliate as we work our way through the franchise. Today we take a look at the overall team stats of the Hudson Valley Renegades.

The Hudson Valley Renegades were the only Rays affiliate to bring home the gold in 2012, winning the New York-Penn League Championship. The Renegades defeated the Tri-City ValleyCats 2 games to one to earn their first league title since 1999. The Renegades took control of the McNamara Division early on in the season and never looked back, finishing with a 52-24 record which was best in franchise history. The Renegades sent six players to the All-Star game; Jeff Ames, Thomas Coyle, Jose Molina, Taylor Guerrieri, Leonardo Reginatto and Joey Rikard.

  1. Things I'll remember about the 2012 Renegades~ This team did not have one dominant hero. It was as though the players took turns winning each game. They were called the "Come back team," and the "Never give up team." At the end of the season, Sean Bierman and Reynaldo Lopez moved up to BG. In return, HV received Jordan Harrison and Alex Moshier from the GCL. They also made amazing contributions. This was a team- both on and off the field- in the true sense of the word. Congratulations HV Renegades!
